1933, the first residential building with
front stilts was built on Rothschild Boulevard
in the heart of the city of Tel Aviv. It constituted
a breakthrough, a conceptual change for the
architects planning Israeli residential buildings.
The place became known as Beit Engel and has
been earmarked for preservation as a historical
building. The Israeli Postal Services even
paid further tribute, dedicating a specially
designed stamp to the building. |
